A. SIGN-UPS

A1. TERMS

1.1. By signing up for the ECC, the team, its players and its organisation agree to the ECC league rules.

1.2. The signup form can only be submitted by the team captain or manager.

1.3. The person submitting the signup form is responsible for making sure all information is complete and correct. This includes but is not limited to: Providing the correct account and tracker links for all players and declaring all relevant alt accounts.

1.3.1. An alt account is considered relevant if it is used to play in a league game or the rank is higher than or similar to the one of the main account.

1.3.2 Shared accounts between a player and a third party also fall under the alt-account definition, unless sufficient evidence can be brought forward that the player does no longer use, or have access to that account in any capacity.

1.4. All players of a team are required to join the Discord server before seeding for the sign-up to be valid and must remain in it throughout the season to be eligible to compete in league games.

1.5. Players are only allowed to sign up with a single team. If a player signs up with more than one team, they have to contact the staff-team immediately to decide which team they will be competing for. If no contact with staff is made, the player will be disqualified from the season.

1.6. All signup details can be changed up until the end of the respective sign-up window by re-submitting the sign-up form or contacting a staff member on Discord.

1.7. By signing up, the team and, if applicable, its organisation, grants Slipstream and all other participating teams permission to use their submitted logo and name in all Slipstream/ECC-related affairs, including but not limited to: Live broadcasts, recorded broadcasts, content posted on social media, as emotes on Discord, on tournament organisation websites or as promotional material. Using logos of other teams commercially, transforming them against their owners’ intent or using them for purposes unrelated to Slipstream/ECC events is strictly prohibited.

1.7.1. The team or its organisation must hold the necessary rights to grant Slipstream/ECC this permission. If a team signs up using an image without having the rights to use and modify it both for commercial and non-commercial purposes or using a name which violates copyright law, this will result in an immediate removal of the logo or name and a strike once this is discovered by staff. If an org or player receives a second strike they are disqualified from the season and all responsible individuals are banned for two seasons. The team has one week to submit a new logo or name, if it fails to do so a default ECC logo will be used.

1.7.2. In turn Slipstream and the ECC grant the team and organisation permission to use the official Slipstream and ECC logos on social media like Twitter, Twitch or Youtube as a form of mentioning or crediting them.

A2. OVERALL

2.1. All teams and players that are not banned from the Slipstream server or the ECC league itself are permitted to sign up.

2.2. Signing up does not guarantee a league spot, unless the team is a returning team with an eligible roster as described in section A3.

2.3. There is one sign-up window at the start of the season for all teams. New teams are seeded into divisions at the end of this period.

A3. SEEDING

3.1. New teams are seeded based on their players’ peak MMR.

3.1.1. The MMR peaks considered for seeding are from the 2s and 3s playlist within the last four weeks before the end of the first sign-up deadline, which is that of the The Vortex qualifier. No matter when a signup form was submitted and when exactly the seeding is done, the same timespan will be applied to all players.

3.1.2. The tracker link for any given player must be that of their native platform, since tracking only with an Epic-ID is unreliable and inaccurate. Only if an account exclusively exists on Epic-Games, shall a link with the Epic-ID be given. If an account exists on Steam, PSN or Xbox-Live natively, it is mandatory to supply us with the correct tracker.

3.1.2.1 Any Epic-ID for Steam, PSN or Xbox-Live accounts may be additionally included in the sign-up form.

3.1.3 Players on Switch consoles are an exception to this rule, as no long-term tracking data is available for them. Instead their current rank at the time of the sign-up is used. In place of the tracker link, they must submit a link to a screenshot containing their current rank in 2s or 3s, including a clear indication that it is made with their account (by e.g. showing their account name on the screenshot). If no exact MMR can be derived from the screenshot because the player is below GC ranks, the median rank from the given rank group is used in seeding.

3.1.4. A team’s seeding is determined by calculating a weighted average of the peak MMR of the three highest rated players on the roster. The rank of the highest ranked player has more weight towards the team’s seeding. The Team MMR used for seeding is calculated using the following formula, in which p1 is the MMR peak of the highest ranked player, p2 of the second-highest rated player and p3 of the third-highest: Team MMR = (p1 * 1.5 + p2 * 1.0 + p3 * 0.5) / 3

3.1.5. If a team has special accomplishments, they can list these in the sign-up form and we’ll consider them to the best of our ability. However, please understand that seeding this number of teams is difficult and time-consuming, and tournament results are difficult to compare reliably, so we cannot guarantee that the resulting seeding is perfect even if given all information.
